Hi, my name is Édouard. It’s a very handy name if you’re asking me as a localised version exists in almost every language.
I often say I’m secretly canadian but I’m actually born and bred in France. I also work in United Kingdom and study in Sweden. I’m a web developer for the awesome music-website Last.fm in London. I’m what we call an internationalisation engineer. I like it there. In the meantime I’m a master student in computer engineering in Linköping, Sweden.

During my spare time I like to take photos, but I’ve less and less spare time. I own a Canon 350D and 3 lenses: the classic Canon 50mm f/1.8 and 28mm f/2.8 and the amazing Helios 85mm f/1.5 lens. I don’t like zoom lenses for a few good reasons. To keep it short I think that framing a picture correctly is complex already. Having the ability to zoom forward and backward doesn’t make it easier. Also I believe that if I’m too far or too close from the subject then I can just move my ass and get a better picture. I’m planning to build a nice piece of website to put my nice shots together, but for now I’m afraid you’ll have to find my pictures among my everyday crap on flickr.
I am fascinated by typography. I don’t consider myself as a good web designer: designing fancy stuffs is not my thing. But following basic typographic rules and choosing a nice font can make a website beautiful and easy to read. I’ve written an english guide about french typography which highlights the differences between english and french typography.
